This company led me through 6 rounds of interviews for a senior role and ghosted me. After consistently following up with four different people (two recruiters, a recruiting coordinator, and an engineering director), this company formally rejected me. The recruiter called me to tell me they chose another candidate, but I received positive feedback and that they want to consider me for another, lower position of Software Development Engineer. I interviewed again with a different manager and got rejected again. The recruiter called me to tell me they chose another candidate, but I received positive feedback and should consider applying to this company again. I applied again and this time was actually rejected with an email which surprised me. I actually got rejected!! Oh my God, at least they had the decency to email me a rejection. This post is not out of anger of being rejected; I have gone through hundreds of rejections. This post is to bring awareness to these mishandled recruiting situations that are disrespectful to candidates like me who are seriously job hunting, preparing, and interviewing for many hours every single day. Finding a job is not a game, but sometimes recruiting candidates seems to be.

The interview process was pretty standard for a software engineering position. Tech screening, followed by a few behavioral / team interviews, and a coding project. There was some follow up by managers at the end, after the on-site. This was pre covid.
