Real professional, recruitment team is quite good, nice and welcoming. The interviews were multiple, the panel was quite intense in the sense that it requires quite a significant amount of preparation, but overall the experience is good and enriching.

Process started off really well with a top notch recruiter – one of those true GTM recruiters who understand the business, but it quickly went downhill from there. Overall, it was a mixed bag of interviews, and I got to meet a lot of unhappy reps. VP Interview: This was basically an hour of the VP selling a low OTE job. A lot of Kool-Aid preempting discussions around a very low base. Not a lot of transparency around the struggles in the sales org when asked. It was a poor sales pitch – I could feel the VP working off of a scripted playbook, trying to preemptively handle my objections rather than having an interesting conversation with me. Other than the hard sell on the "elite" sales org (and clear demonstration of sales arrogance), the VP interview was mostly about the grind with pipeline gen and making sure you wouldn't leave if hired. It’s clear the VP level is concerned about retention issues. Sales Director Interview: This was a fun interview with a very humble sales leader. The director totally went off script and gave some hints about the sales org and problems with the accounts in patch. It was good that someone addressed the patch – seems like the patch is make or break at this company. Sales Rep Interview: I went through an interview with a rep who was disinterested in participating in the process. The rep was nice, but had a bad case of burn out. The rep came late and underprepared, immediately asking me my life story including if I was married or had kids. From there the rep couldn’t even hold a conversation. After this weird interaction, I decided to chat with other reps at the company and it seems that burnout along with micromanagement are common issues. The biggest red flag for me was the disconnect between leadership and the reps. How could multiple leaders not know they were putting a candidate in front of a rep who was completely burnt out? Were they themselves so micromanaged in their own interview process that this was lost on them? After several rounds of interviews, I got asked to the panel interview, which demanded extreme amounts for an unpaid presentation, including socializing the presentation with the poor burnt out rep. The ask clearly didn't align with what they were able to offer to me as a candidate. Overall, Zscaler seemed like an extreme startup grind, without the startup pay or benefits. A definite bummer after admiring their tech.

This was the most unprofessional interview process I have ever experienced. I met with the recruiter and she seemed great, enthusiastic and encouraging about the opportunity. She set me up with the hiring manager and here is where things went wrong. The interview with the hiring manager went well. He stated he was going to recommend me to move on the process and that he speaks with recruiter daily. Well 3 weeks later nothing, complete silence. I have followed up with the recruiter and hiring manager for 3 times and haven’t received any feedback. Not even we are going with another candidate. The hiring manager added me on LinkedIn immediately after the interview and I thought oh this is great he wants to proceed with me in the process. Now I realize he only wants to add people from my network. I have never experienced this much unprofessionalism. So I withdrew my candidacy for the opportunity because I see the hiring manager is on LinkedIn looking to hire candidates I’m my area. Yet he completely ignored me. I would recommend staying away from this company. Their work ethic showed in the interview process. No appreciation of anyone time. I also immediately removed the manager from my network. What I learned from this is never accept anyone into my network until I’m officially hired at the company. After reading the reviews I see they do this quite often in the US and internationally.
