What an insanely long and convoluted interview process! Considerable back-and-forth with the recruiter, 1 hiring manager interview, 4 individual interviews, 1 onsite visit, the most ridiculous riddle/puzzle/logic-based test, AND a new presentation (that you have to create) to a dozen employees.
It's an extreme lack of respect for the candidate's time and in retrospect, I don't know why I kept continuing with the process. While I doubt this is the norm for Zoox, my hiring manager was 15 minutes late for our chat, appeared extremely disinterested and unprepared, and spent most of the interview asking me to describe the details of my previous role's organizational hierarchy.
It was by far the wackiest interview process of my entire career.

Interview consisted of 5 virtual interviews with an on site interview presentation with 2 other final candidates. Usually when you get to the site it is the final round. After the presentation, I had 8 back to back interviews which was very exhausting and difficult.

Long, disorganized process, but very friendly and passionate people. To be clear, this negative experience is about the process and not the people.
Process took over six weeks, from initial recruiter contact to decision. Last minute request to create a presentation for a panel, and shuffling of schedules.
Every interviewer was a joy to talk with. Only one of the six interviewers showed up more than five minutes late (she also left early), but if you're interviewing over video call you realize how common it is to be ghosted entirely by interviewers.
Hope Zoox can clean up their interview process because it looks like a great company to be a part of.
