I did a first 15 min call with the HR in charge, then a Skype call with the hiring manager and right after they sent me a take home test to be completed within 5 days. I had a final video call that was divided into 2 parts: a first interview with HR about my motivation and then another one with the team where I was presenting the task.

Process went like this: HR email exchange - first interview with hiring team - challenge/task - final interview on site. Do want to mention something though. I asked HR if I could get any tips for the interview and they told me I didn't need to prepare any further (since I already presented and passed the task they sent me) and that it would be a chat about my motivation for the role and background and it was actually a walk-through of my challenge. I found out about this...at the interview itself. The one on site. I wanted to go the extra mile and prove I am very proactive - so I did a presentation about my motivation and background - and on the day of the final interview I was faced with a different type of interview. It wasn't anything crazy to ask for, but I was given the wrong instructions, so that was really awkward. Also, at one point the hiring team was being particularly rude. I tried my best to answer everything properly despite not having prepared a walk-through of my challenge - I prepared intensively but for what HR told me I'd be asked about - and at one point they were asking me very specific influencer marketing questions (I don't have influencer marketing experience and state that clearly on my CV), and I was literally mocked about having a high performance score at my current role (I work on a case per case basis and that is monitored so that's how it's calculated). Couldn't believe a company like Zalando would have people like that on their hiring team, or maybe it was just a (very) bad day for them. I mailed about this to HR (a different one, not the one that gave me the wrong instructions), since I was really sad and upset with the situation and to this day I haven't got an answer back. Imagine. Honestly, after the nice reviews they have on Glassdoor, wasn't expecting such lack of professionalism handling potential candidates. Felt the need to share. Hope they treated the others a bit better and hope this can be useful to other candidates. Please make sure HR and the hiring team are aligned so you don't end up feeling like an idiot!
