Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Workday (Pleasanton, CA) en nov 2015

      Entrevista

Got an initial recruiter to get things running with a phone interview ...conversation lasted about 45 minutes with him asking me about my background . Second interview was also via phone with a second recruiter asked basically the same questions about background..strange system ..they want you to call them on a scheduled time to a certain number. then another recruiter was transferred to me. he was the 3rd recruiter and he set up an interview with the actual head of the consultant department. This recruiter was 6 weeks old to the company. He was a contract recruiter with the company which is good because sometimes recruiters with third party recruiting companies don't know much about the company or the position to which you are applying for. and their lack of care is apparent ..they just want the commission and will not be patient and attentive with you. He was extremely knowledgeable. very intelligent and insightful ..returned all texts and phone calls ...answered all questions ..very honest. .....again via telephone ...so after a very short phone interview with the department head of consultants , she invited me to interview with them in their Pleasanton CA home office..the face to face interviews are done once a month usually on Mondays and Tuesdays..they call this interview days because your interview panel has to come in from different parts of the united states being that most of them work form home...they paid for airfare and reimbursed you on hotel, food, airport parking, uber or taxi...hotel they book you in is not far from the actual Workday building but its far from the airport..I flew in to the San Francisco airport..uber costs $80 but taxi would have cost $155 from the airport to the hotel in Pleasanton ..so good luck with that...the entire trip cost me over $500...interview time was two hours after I arrived to the hotel so it was rush rush rush..the home office is very nice and very modern ..its huge and all their offices are by quirky little names and not by numbers...everyone that pass me by in the lobby said hello and seem very young ... I interviewed with the department heads ..in three increments with each interview being about 30 to 45 minutes long asking more details about my work . they asked about implementation projects, lots of questions about communication with role plays with government and education institutions. I had to do a 20 minute payroll challenge presentation to see how I would present with potential clients ..role play....with an excel spreadsheet with explanations of the formulas presented in the spreadsheet. They do this to make sure you are an advanced user of excel because the person in this role will present the formulas to the developer for implementations. so you need to know peoplesoft implementations and methodology including the modules as well...and be advanced excel user. however, when interviewing with these people..which by the way, were not from the actual workday office but from all over the united states .I say that to say this....they had to fly to see you as well,as you flying in to see them... . they asked me two questions which were math questions to see how I got the answer but they told me it didn't matter if the answer was not correct only was interested how I arrive at the answer...i guess basic logic skills ..I asked the questions regarding training ....they said that there is an extensive training involved and must pass workday certifications in order to continue with the company..they also shared information about previous applicants that were hired with the company did not pass the workday certifications which are contingent for staying with the company. they also shared that the applicants that did not pass had trouble letting go of the things they already knew about other implementations were not to be used with workday...in other words, they want you to forget about what you know and learn the "workday" way" ...after workday certifications , you will be paired with a mentor and you will be sort of a "ride-a-long" with another person in your same position. turns out ..I didn't get the offer ...said that I did not know enough about implementations which was contradictory because they wanted to brainwash me anyway and I was fine with that. I am mode-able and learn-able .unlike a lot of people my age and experience. .also said they didn't have the time to train is what the recruiter said...which was a contradiction as well...again ...if you have an extensive training like you said, time would have not mattered...so, I was at a loss when he said it to me. sorry so lengthy but i would have like to have known all this and what it was really like in detail before I went. and most interview reviews on this site are sometimes and somewhat vague...so I thought I would go into a little more detail.
