I went through multiple rounds of interviews with Wonderist, including conversations with different members of the team and a take-home SEO audit assignment that took around 3 hours to complete. The interviews themselves were fairly standard and the team was professional during those conversations. However, the biggest issue was what happened toward the end of the process. After completing the assignment and final rounds, I was given specific timelines for when I would hear back. On two separate occasions, those timelines passed without any communication. There was no update, no explanation, and no acknowledgment that the timeline had changed. Each time, I had to follow up myself just to get a response. At that stage — after investing time in multiple interviews and a detailed assignment — having to chase for basic updates is frustrating and unnecessary. It creates uncertainty and makes the process feel disorganized and poorly managed. It’s not unreasonable to expect that if a timeline is communicated, it will either be met or proactively updated. That didn’t happen here. Instead, the communication only occurred after I reached out, which left me in limbo more than once. Overall, while the interview conversations were fine, the lack of follow-through and communication at the end significantly impacted the experience. With more consistent and transparent communication, this could have been a much stronger candidate experience.
