Applied online and was sent a rather long screening questionnaire. Following the questionnaire I was given a brief phone interview where I was asked a few basic technical questions (some regarding LEDs), questions about my educational background and a few questions about why I want to work at Cree. Following the phone interview I was given the opportunity to give a 30 minute presentation over Skype to a team of engineers and hiring managers regarding my background and a project that I had done in the past.

They asked questions about how LEDs function on an atomic level during the first phone interview.
Normal tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here, problem solving example, technical question specific to the area you interview for. HR phone screen, manager phone screen then in person interview on site
Multiple interview rounds, multiple interviews with heads of different departments as the last round. Interview process started with a phone recruiter, followed by a hiring manager, the Hiring Manager's manager, and then a final round with all the heads of the departments independently (4-5)

First was a 15 minute phone call with HR followed up by a 45 minute interview with hiring manager. One more round of interviews after this if I had gotten through
