Interviews can be a long process beginning with a HR screen, then moving to PMs, a couple of PMMs, screen again by managers, and then a panel of operations teams that may include a person reporting to a sponsor. It can take weeks depending on time and schedule.
Worse if they have a consultant sitting in the role but are going through the motions in order to hire them. You can spend time, energy to find out there wasn't a job that they planned to hire you for. A VP was present but clearly multitasking and uninterested. Overall sour experience.
