      Longest interview process I've ever been. The technical test to do at home takes much more time that they mention, in my case it was close to one entire day hands-on, as it consisted in building an automated stack on the cloud, including the use of GitHub and other tools. If you come from a company using similar but not same technologies or tools, will take you a time to google, find the procedures, remember some stuff, write the code, verify, correct bugs, etc. I consider that this test should be good enough to evaluate if the candidate has enough technical skills. To comment about it on the onsite interview is reasonable, to begin again with another practical case from scratch seems a bit too much time consuming. The interview was looking like there were searching for a candidate that previously worked there, without giving any value to big amount of years of experience in similar but not same technologies. That is a common mistake of start-up companies when the interviewers have few to none experience (for some of them, Wave was their first and only one company), and they are unable to evaluate any other skill different than what they know or it is currently running on the company. I consider that three hours of onsite interview after a long technical test is too much to take from a candidate that is currently working in another company, and has to excuse this time from a live production project to answer tons questions related to a mock project to unexperienced interviewers. Please, take this much time when you find there is a potential match in the candidate, and choose interviewers with experience in other companies who are able to see beyond their problem of the day in their current role.
