The main impression is that there was no open position, and that the main purpose was to have free consultant sessions from an expert. The whole interview process included three sessions overall, analyzing three scientific papers, presenting outcomes to developers, manager, and to the CTO. In the end of a very long process with me investing so much effort, they said that they prefer to hire Ukrainian at half price of what I asked. They knew my salary expectations from the beginning.
