There was a two-stage interview process for this role. The first stage involved a chat with the Head of HR as well as the Paid Social Manager, with the second stage being a strategy presentation with the Head of Digital Marketing and the Paid Social Manager.
The feedback from both interviews was excellent and we were in the final stages of negotiation when I was informed that the role was being taken off the market. Apparently, this was due to the role never being approved by the CEO in the first place. So I, as well as at least three other candidates, spent days preparing for the interviews, building a strategy and presenting the task for a role that never existed. An unnecessary waste of time. What's more, I received no apology from any of those that interviewed me.
To say there was a serious lack of internal communication and mismanagement of the hiring process is an understatement.
