I was invited to interview by HR for an English writer post as indicated in the job ad. The job post was in French but no mention of French writing was included, and I made sure to include that I am not fluent in French in my CV and cover letter. I arrived to meet the directors of the communications department for both print and digital. After some time explaining what they need done, which I have a TON of experience doing, they mentioned that they wanted the person they hired to write journalistic articles in French. I said I wasn’t confident doing this without someone taking an editing look-through before publishing. They said this was important and ended the interview. This was a complete waste of my time.
