Entrevista
I interviewed with Vestmark Chicago, pre-pandemic in September 2019.
First a general phone screen with a recruiter. Then an online test with codility writing some code and asking some knowledge questions on SQL and Java like what's the difference between primary key and unique key (for SQL) what do the keywords like static or final mean (Java).
This was followed by a video interview: One Java problem in coderpad, one SQL problem in a remote-controlled word document (a pretty frustrating experience).
Finally invited to an on-site: It started with a mixture of behavioral and superficial technical questions by multiple people in the room in some kind of popcorn-style. Interview was cut short by key people apparently not being available, but it seemed to me that they were turned off by by the fact that I have no experience with Spring (which was only listed as a “nice to have” and I never claimed otherwise). The local office seemed very disorganized, most likely due to being just a satellite office to Boston. People didn't have a lot of questions and didn't seem prepared at all for this interview. This was also the last I heard from the company, they didn't even bother to send me a formal rejection.
Definitely the worst interview experience I had until then and since. Big waste of time, also given the multiple layers of interviews before the on-site, and it felt pretty rude to stop the on-site prematurely

The interviews went well. People are nice. The questions are not difficult. They valued communications. Ask questions before answering the questions. They asked a lot of questions on Java Basics and would test on SQL.
