Reached out by recruiter on LinkedIn, we set up a phone screen which went great. I did ask about transparency within the company and the recruiter went on this rant about their past bad press. At the end, I was told they will be scheduling me for a round with the hiring manager, but instead got a rejection email - kind of blindsided me
