      Entrevista

A Deeply Flawed Interview Process and Overhyped Product – A Cautionary Tale I interviewed with Veeva a while ago, and I feel compelled to share my experience to shed light on their exploitative interview practices and the emotional toll it takes on job seekers. Their interview process is nothing short of brutal, demanding candidates to develop a fully functional product demo from scratch, requiring 50+ hours of unpaid work. As a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive experience at industry leaders like IQVIA, Oracle, and Medidata, I find this approach not only unreasonable but also disrespectful to the time and expertise of professionals. Veeva’s product, as a Sr. System Engineer is far from impressive. Having worked with platforms like RAVE (which I thoroughly enjoyed), I can confidently say that Veeva’s user interface and end-user experience are among the worst I’ve encountered. Their processes are unnecessarily complex, and their dominance in the market seems to stem solely from their strong sales and commercial strategies, not from the quality of their product. I am relieved that I will not have to work with Veeva’s product in my new role. In fact, I sincerely hope I never have to interact with their platform again in my career. For those considering Veeva, be warned: their interview process is designed to intimidate and exploit. As job seekers, we are expected to have the deep knowledge about the design and programming then know how to implement the steps but not to master your product, but that should happen after being hired, not as a prerequisite for an interview. Expecting candidates to invest dozens of hours into studying their product before even being considered for a role is not just unreasonable—it’s a red flag about the company’s culture and values. Not sure how it got Public Benefit Company designation.
