The interview process was mainly used for the hiring manager to get to know the interviewee more. They were upfront about my underqualification of the role, which they were unlikely to accept which I appreciated. The Hiring Manager also gave me other alternate positions within the company to try out for.

It has changed from when I interviewed. But during my time, I interviewed with the leads of the department and then got an easy decision. They really take time in assessing cultural fit vs skills, vs now, they value skills and don't really care about the culture.
