Solicité el puesto a través de un captador. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en VantAI (New York, NY) en abr 2023
Entrevista
No particular way of doing interviews. The process from HR screening to final rounds of interviews needs to be properly managed. Even the managers interviewing doesn't know what will be the next round.
I was contacted by a recruiter. I then was given a intro interview where about half of the time was spent talking about the company and the other half was spent talking about the work I do. I then had an interview where I described my experience with data pipelines.
In both I asked what makes a successful employee and the answer was driven individual contributors with high ownership.
I was told as the final part of the interview I would have 5-7 day take home exercise and then a following presentation. I was also asked to sign an NDA that gave VantAI potential ownership over any material I generated in the interview. Based on other reviews I was concerned that this was an attempt to generate MVP's for potential products without compensation.
I requested that they alter the NDA to not allow them to own what I created or to change the technical to either not use CI or be less of a time commitment on my part.
They were unable to accommodate me and we ended amicably.
I did have some weird vibes about the size of the team relative to the length of time the company has existed and the potential embracing of burnout culture. These were not substantiated by anything other than feeling however.
I really enjoyed talking with the two people who interviewed me. They seem like experts in their field and definitely knew their stuff!
