The interviews were by phone, primarily because of the distance. There were two interviews, the first was more behavioral: organization, communication and negotiation skills, relevant experience, that kind of things. The second was more technical, many of the questions were about particular technologies/products. It can be tough if you are not familiar with the technology in question.
