The initial recruiter that I spoke with was great. I was passed off to several other members of the recruitment team and this got to be a little confusing on who I was supposed to be working with. My initial meeting was with one, then all of the scheduling and follow up was with another (who left me hanging for 10 business days before following up) and then after negotiating salary with the hiring manager, I then received a different offer and then negotiated over again with another member of the recruitment team.

I had a screening call for a Director-level position, which unfortunately did not start well—the recruiter was late and seemed disengaged throughout the conversation. Despite having a strong internal referral, he showed little interest in my responses. I remained professional and positive during the call and followed up the next business day with a thank-you email.
After two weeks with no response or update, I followed up again to check the status of the position. I never received a reply. I asked my referral if this lack of communication was typical, and they acknowledged that while the company does tend to move slowly in their hiring and interview processes, this level of silence was not normal. They also mentioned that this particular recruiter was not well-regarded internally. My referral then contacted the recruiter directly, who responded saying he was still waiting to hear back from the hiring manager and would follow up with me once he had updates. That was four weeks ago—and still nothing.
For a Director-level role, this experience was disappointing. I was never given feedback, a formal update, or even a courteous closure to the process. It felt like being ghosted after a single screening call, which is disheartening considering the seniority of the position and the time invested.
