You first need to take an online test, to see if you pass. The tests are extremely comprehensive and aren't easy to pass. If you pass, you submit your paperwork and then you schedule a mock session. A company rep will act like a student and you have to walk them through a problem. If you pass that and then a background check, you are good to go.

The interview process at Tutor.com was straightforward. First, I had to complete at least one subject exam that was on demand, which took me a few days. Once I passed, the rest of the process was smooth and simple, including setting up my profile and waiting for approval to start working.

The interview tested technical skills, but primarily tested communication/customer service skills. Also tested how well I could solve problems, or alter teaching strategies if one wasn’t working. The interviewer was very nice and complimented me when I did things well, and offered different approaches I could also take.
