This was for a hybrid IT Help Desk position at one of their corporate locations in Charlotte, NC. First a phone screen with the recruiter then a virtual interview with the hiring manager.
The hiring manager was very friendly and the 30 minute interview turned into a one hour interview because the conversation was flowing well. "Tell me about yourself" and simple technical troubleshooting scenarios. Hiring manager asked if I had anytime time planned off in the next 6 months and how quickly I could start - heavily hinting to look out for a written offer the following week. 3-4 weeks goes by without single update. I reach out to the recruiter to get an update on the hiring manager's timeline - no response.
I log into the Truist career's website a month after the interview and see "not selected." Brilliant. So my recruiter can't even be bothered to break the news to me. I didn't even receive the simple courtesy of an automated rejection email. An unprofessional lack of communication canceled out a great interview and made me want to stay faraway from this company in the future. Never ghost candidates that have set aside time to interview.
