2 initial recruiter screens with hiring partners of TRI (it's a contingent role) over the course of a week. One of the recruiters reached out to me directly. Despite it being an engineering role, they declined to move forward because I don't have experience as a 3D modeler... which is an art role. No Gameplay engineer is also a 3D modeler. It's like rejecting a structural engineer because they aren't also an interior decorator. TRI seems to fundamentally not understand the separation of concerns in gameplay and simulation engineering, which is concerning for a company relying on this kind of engineering to lead the way in the AV industry.
