      The first few folks I interacted with were nice. During the "challenge" review/video interview process I was met with condescending rebuttals from the founder when responding to his questions. Follow-up was drawn out and oftentimes unresponsive. The whole process took months.

      Communication was really good throughout the interview process. I applied on LinkedIn and was contacted for an initial phone interview (15 minutes) to cover basics and what was important to me in my next role. The next step was an email challenge, where you get a sense of what the position will really entail. After that, there was an in-person interview (where part is presenting what you did in the challenge). I thought the in-person was the most difficult part of the process, but I also found it to be the most insightful to how they worked so well as a team and really reinforced that I wanted that too. Questions ranged in difficulty and there were definitely some that you can't prepare for when you're researching. I received an offer and once accepted, had a background check and references checked. There was also a coffee with a couple members of the team before my start date. Overall a couple month process but very worth it. There are not many companies out there that will take the time to get to know you as a person, not just a person for a role. The Outloud Group invests the time to do this, and in my opinion, it really sets them apart.

      So disappointed! If I wanted questions launched at me so aggressively and literally felt like I had 30 seconds to answer each as to how fast the recruiter was conducting my interview and felt no level of interest or engagement whatsoever, I could of just gone speed-dating, seriously! Even though the initial interview was scheduled for 15min for essentially, an over the phone, meet and greet, I was looking forward to it! Had read extremely good things about the Outloud Group from people that work(ed) there and from their clients. Even their job post was super engaging, unique and motivating. I was expecting that same feel with their interview as the internet had led me to believe that’s just who they are and how they do things... unfortunately, I got the extreme opposite. The recruiter over the phone was so disconnected, uninterested, and in such a hurry, so much so that it made her sound completely rude and in my opinion, unprofessional. Definitely not engaging at all! Instant disappointment! Perhaps they should treat people they themselves scheduled for an interview in the same way they treat their employees and clients.

      We are sorry to hear that you had a negative screening call experience. We are a small team and while we’d love to spend more time with all candidates, unfortunately that’s not always possible so we do often do 15 minute initial calls. We appreciate the feedback and wish you the best of luck in your job search.
