      Round 1: They gave me 4 questions and asked me to use their online application system to record videos of me giving my responses with infinite redos within 3 days. Check-in: Surprisingly, the recruiter then scheduled a 15 minute call to confirm interest and salary expectations Round 2: They asked me to write a research plan and product launch plan for improving a municipal bus services. They also asked me to include 4-5 slides on past work. They said to spend no more than 3 hours total on these submissions.

      1. Why are you interested in being a product manager within an educational technology organization? What’s compelling about the Achievement Network specifically? 2. The Product Manager will play a central role in defining, building, evangelizing, and continuously improving ANet’s product line. Share a recent example of a product that you managed. What is the product or application? What was your scope of responsibilities? 3. What were your priorities for the product? What did you achieve? How do you know? 4. Who were your key collaborators? How did you collaborate towards shared outcomes?

      Entrevista

      Round 1: Answer three questions by video and submit within 3 days. I don't mind doing a video interview, but it seems a little strange to do this before an intro call. Round 2: A short 5 minute intro call where little to no information about the role, the team, or what I would be working on was shared. Round 3: Complete a test sample from a prompt, and also share a 3-5 page slide deck of a case study or recent project. The directions said to spend 3 hours. I thought it was odd to get a request to do a test sample project before ever talking to a hiring manager. I still didn't know anything about the team or what I would be doing, so I completed the project sample with little idea of what they would be looking for. Again, very bizarre to have a test sample at this stage of an interview process. I figured why not and completed the test samples. After I submitted the two part test sample that definitely took more than 3 hours, I was sent an automated rejection email with no feedback. At no point in the process did I have a good understanding of what this job was and what I would be working on. Also, as part of the application, I shared numerous examples of work so this was interview process was very odd. I was really interested in the company at first, but this experience was so negative and pretty disrespectful towards candidates. Interviews should be more two way, and not a gauntlet before you even get a chance to talk with hiring manager. This was really not a great experience for candidates and the interview process definitely will turn away a lot of great people.

      There was a 2 part test exercise. The first prompt was an example of bus company in a city that needs to focus efforts on rider satisfaction. Questions with the prompt included: - How would you go about gathering information to inform the effort? - What 1-3 metrics would you propose to help understand and address this issue? - How would you know when you’ve appropriately solved the problem - How would you kick off the project to improve rider satisfaction?
