Initially they told me there were 3 steps but over more than 2 months and after (I counted) 9 different meetings/interviews with developers and hiring managers and HR they set up a 30 minute call with me to tell me that I just wasn't the perfect fit they are looking for and that it is very competitive hiring environment right now. I had one interview a week when they took a week to get back to me after each one and set up additional interviews without any other information besides 'we want to interview you more' I met with the recruiter, hiring manager, staff engineer and many of Android engineers. One hour long interview started off with the sr engineer saying the interview just came on his calendar and he wasn't sure what else I was asked. I did not meet a single woman that worked there outside of the emails I got from what I would guess was a woman to schedule the calendar. The interview questions were not that hard, no live coding just questions about ANR, coroutines and general Android questions. One engineer did say their app has a god activity with thousands of lines of code, fwiw. Salary range they gave as 122-192/yr, something like that. They also have a tracking analytics pixel on emails they send you.

Their recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn. She explained what the company does and asked me if I like to join them. We set a time for the second interview which was a technical interview. I had a very good interview with their mobile manager. I found him knowledgeable and very polite. I really liked him. We spent around 40m talking about my background. App architecture, Rx, Unit testing, etc. In the end he let me ask my questions. I am very happy with my interview. Their HR came back to late, in about a week, to tell me the result of the interview. They very politely appreciated my interest in joining them but they preferred to go with another candidate.
