The interview process involves a Tex/as Tech University department manager to call you or email you to setup a time to interview. This isn't always easy because they have limited time for them to get a their staff to be able to meet. They usually have between five and ten people and includes the manager's manager, the manager him/herself, two or three people that work in the department that would be involved with your position, one or two people from the user community, and possibly 1 or two graduate students. They ask you about yourself, tell you about the job and then ask questions to check your knowledge. Some technical programming or database departments have a fairly difficult programming assignment that sometimes is done right there in the interview. That is stressful, but the people are very nice about it. Sometimes, there is a take home assignment. These are even more difficult, but they give you a week to return the results.

There was only one interview round (1hr) with Technical and Behavioral questions. If you are a candidate who is not a Texas Tech Alumni don't even apply. Utter waste of time. They give a lot of preference for Alumni over external candidates. I gave my interview which went perfect and even after 3 weeks after the interview they don't bother to update me with a decision, Timeline or an update. After Multiple follow-ups and calls, I was just told the position was filled.
