1) Initial 30 minute phone call with a recruiter. 2) Follow-up 45 minute Zoom video meeting with a hiring manager 3) 3x hour-long Zoom video meeting coding interview with online code editor and two engineers After passing all of the above interviews, I got an email saying that my next step would be an onsite interview at their office in the SF Bay area. I scheduled a follow-up phone call to review information for the on-site. At this point, the recruiter tells me there is a new requirement for the position dictating that you need to have to have worked remotely in the past (since this was a remote position). As such, I was no longer eligible for the role since I did not have any previous remote-only experience. This information should have been something included in the initial job requisition initially, and seems very unprofessional to add it so suddenly. This company has essentially wasted my 5+ hours of my time.
