Multiple round of interviews with head and ceo of the company. This is done over a few months than in a week. The questions may range from area of expertise to leadership

I received an email from the HR department with preliminary interview questions including my current and expected salary. The HR department followed up on my expected salary. They were very persistent. They sent me a tentative offer that was 20% less than my expected offer and told me an interview was contingent upon acceptance of this offer. I accepted, although it was unwise because it was unrealistic. They offered me my expected offer some days later with the disclaimer that I wouks have to work more than 45 hours per week (not sure whether this is legal). They told me one year commitment is compulsory to provide continuity for the students. I felt offended at this point. The skype interview was only with HR staff, although I had requested an interview in person. I asked ahead of time whom I will meet and I was not told in advance. I had hoped to eventually talk to the academic staff, which I never was able to. They told me that there will be another interview with the academic staff Later they turned down my application because of budget cut; they couldn't afford the expected offer that they had sent me when in fact I had already accepted their first lower offer. I felt they wasted my time. They got too much information from me and I never got to talk to a professor. It seemed shady and bizarre.
