I recently attended an interview with this organization and was surprised by the nature of the questions. Instead of assessing my skills, experience, or professional competencies, the interviewer focused almost entirely on personal matters — such as marital status, whether I have children and their ages, my place of origin, which part of the country I come from, where I currently live, who lives in my house, and even the location of my home.
At no point during the conversation was I asked about my professional expertise, achievements, or ability to perform the role. This left me feeling that the process was neither fair nor relevant to the position.
Interviews should be an opportunity for both the candidate and the employer to evaluate fit based on job-related capabilities, not on personal or demographic information.
