Entrevista
The interview started with the manager running through SPOKE's history and the role and then asking me to describe my experience and why I was interested in the role. At the end I asked for the salary bracket and this is when the interview went down hill. She said the role was £30-40k and they were having trouble benchmarking the role. My mouth did visibly drop and she obviously saw in the video call and asked how I felt about the salary. I said it was far too low for the role (running the productions from everything from ecomm to abroad campaign). I said that for a Production Manager role I would expect a minimum of £50k and I would expect a Junior Producer to be on roughly around £30k. She was obviously offended by this and proceeded to tell me the current Production Manager is from Pangaia which is a higher end brand and she's on £40k and that theres another candidate from John Lewis who has asked for less then the bracket... I have to say that I think this is HIGHLY unprofessional to tell me what other candidates are asking for especially as my last freelance gig was at John Lewis so therefore I do know the producers there pretty well. She then finished with 'Well I won't waste anymore of your time then' and hung up. Of course this isn't the right fit for either parties clearly.
