Entrevista
I apply for a position in the new site in Switzerland. I got a reply from HR in the US after a 2 weeks following my application. We scheduled a first interview that was technical.
I went on a call with a Swiss Engineer who directly started with technical questions without any introduction of the company nor of the role. I personally didn't like the approach.
Questions were coding questions and reviewing code.
The coding questions were of a reasonable difficulty but very frustrating by the lack of preparation of the interviewer that used to improvise questions he didn't know the answer and was giving wrong hints.
I eventually got stuck on one question on coding that was more an improvisation question as he asked it following something I said. The interviewer was giving hints but I couldn't find and he showed me the answer.
I didn't agree with his answer saying it wasn't solving the problem. After a bit of hesitation he moved to another question. After the interview I could find the solution and double checked on online. His hint wasn't helping at all and was wrong.
He asked me another question, still improvising. I answered with what I thought to be correct. He argued that it wasn't correct explaining me some complexity arguments that got me confused on the moment. Again, after the interview I thought about it and understood his reasoning which was wrong. I checked online, I was right.
To be mentioned also that during the whole interview we were constantly interrupted by internet crashes on his side. The connection was very poor, I could barely hear what he was saying. I found it very awkward and I'm very much wondering how can they work like that with the team in L.A. Because of the connection we did't finish the technical tests, he preferred to give up.
At the very end he told me I could ask questions. I asked about the role since he didn't explain anything about it before.
Overall the experience was pretty bad for me. I didn't like the way the interview was conducted by jumping directly to technical questions. I ended up very frustrated by the clear lack of preparation of the interviewer and the quality of the connection.
I would recommend to people interested in working at Snap to rather apply to the US site, the one in Switzerland has a lot of room for improvement.

I had to write some code using hash functions, review an intentionally flawed code looking 8 mistake.

Overall mostly very good. Spoke with recruiter and quickly advanced to hiring manager and director. Everyone acted professionally and were easy to deal with. Seemed like a good potential fit. There was discussion about working remote / local to me that later in the interview was contradicted by HR very specifically. That was odd; not sure what happened, so I pulled out of the interview process. Each of the people I interviewed were sharp, intelligent and seemed engaged in their roles.

Chat with a recruiter then a technical phone screen. The technical interview was over video chat, where the interviewer briefly introduced themselves , then proceeded to the coding question. The coding part was very awkward since the interviewer never said a single word the whole time - not sure why this was not a HackerOne assignment instead.
