1st Interview: Phone call with HR about current role and past experience and other regular questions. My salary expectation was beyond their budget marginally and I felt they were tight on budget, though I'm fully qualified for the role and my experience is exactly same as the role, I felt I will not get the call for 2nd interview because HR was adamant on salary.
After a month of giving the first interview( In fact I even forgot that I gave that interview), HR scheduled an in-person interview saying that the interview will be followed by a written assessment.
2nd Interview: Interview was done by Hiring manager, other team managers and HR. Most of the questions were about my past experience and what I have achieved in the past. And some scenario questions, which I feel are not quite useful to judge a person. I expected they would ask some technical questions but looked like the Hiring manager was not technical at all and had no clue what exactly he is hiring for. Though the role was of Senior Developer, the way interview was held was more for a Team Lead or Manager role. No technical questions were asked. I was qualified in all sense for the role, but not really disappointed that I didn't get it. Only disappointment was the way in person interview was conducted. Felt they were not quite serious about hiring someone, this is my first ever interview where I felt the interviewers were disinterested in the process.
After the interview, HR mentioned there is no written assessment as mentioned earlier.
