Multiple interviews: phone screen, hiring manager, hiring manager’s manager, HRBP, and then a panel in person interview on site. Honestly, the interview process wasn’t bad at all. I felt welcomed and comfortable the entire time. Where we deviated was the company’s unwillingness to negotiate on bonus structure. One cannot reasonably expect the new management hire you’ve proclaimed you really need to come in to make an impact with no prospect/incentive of even a prorated bonus for the remainder of the current year. There would be no full bonus potential until the end of the following calendar year. It was a big ask I politely said no to and declined the job offer.
