Unprofessional. The name they have earned is being taken for granted by a few of their own employees. My excitement of an interview discussion with them turned into an utter disappointment. Before the interview was scheduled, I checked with HR (not taking names here) very clearly about the profile they were looking for. On the interview day, I was asked questions out of my profile. Interviewer and HR had no communication whatsoever regarding my profile. I called up the HR after the interview to confirm the profile they were looking for - and he confirmed it was API Automation Testing. I told the HR I wasn't asked a single question related to API, or its automation, or related to Testing. When I gave him the name of the interviewer, he confirmed the interviewer was from Development team (taking interview for Testing profile) as the one who was supposed to interview me was on leave. Well, I guess they wasted my and their own time. I am sure many of you may have had awesome experiences because a company as a whole cannot be at fault - But make sure to have a confirmation twice with the HR before you go for an interview. And if at all any of this happens, question the interviewer about the profile he is looking for - That's one thing I missed doing - Should have asked him right in the middle of interview about what was his expectation and whether he knew the profile for which I had applied
