Entrevista
A whole day assessment day, ice breaker and 4 activities: small group task, large group task, interview and presentation all centered around 1 client profile and interlinked for each task. After each task we were asked 3 questions to reflect and self-review our performance.
Small group task:
- discussed who would be the ideal solicitor to take charge of the case based on profile descriptions and how we would make the project appeal to them.
Large group task:
- deciding on the right product for the client to meet their needs based on the client profile documents.
Interview: with 1 or 2 partners
Presentation: using AI, prepared a presentation to the client about the ideal product for them to reach their goals and why. Presented to 2 partners and answered follow up questions.
Overall, everyone was very friendly and welcoming throughout the process.

Entrevista
The assessment day consisted of a small group exercise (3 people), large group exercise (6 people), client presentation and one motivation/competency based interview. The interview was strengths based and focussed on potential situations you may encounter as a trainee.

Why do you want to work Shoosmiths and how are we different from other law firms you have applied to?
Application, video interview, assessment centre which includes a group task, written exercise, presentation, partner interview and Q&As with existing trainees. There is also time to network with office heads and partners.
