      Solicité el puesto a través de una agencia de empleo. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Sewell Automotive Companies en jun 2025

      Entrevista

      I was first screened by a third party recruiting agency, where I provided my background and answered a few questions. About a week later I received another call from the recruiting agency with additional screening questions. I was then moved into the first round of interviews which consisted of a video call with the hiring manager. It was your run of the mill first round interview. The second round is where red flags started to fly. I was instructed by the third party recruiting agency that the hiring manager wanted to meet for ~15 minutes before doing a "personality test", which wasn't typical. In that discussion I was asked for my GPA and to provide transcripts as proof - mind you, I am over 6 years removed from college with 7+ years of professional work experience under my belt. I found this odd, but continued on to the test. This was framed to me as just being procedural, and not a make it or break it in the hiring process - that couldn't be further from the truth. This test consists of math and problem solving questions that have nothing to do with marketing (calculating sales tax?) + a small personality assessment. Once the test was completed, I was asked to fill out a paper application, where they asked for my social security number, all past addresses, and other personal identifying information - presumably to run a background check on me. After a week of crickets I was informed via a text from the third party recruiting company that the hiring manager chose not to move forward, citing my test results did not come back how they wanted and they "didn't think I had the quick thinking skills needed to complete the job". I believe I dodged a bullet and hope this provides some food for thought for the hiring manager.
