I gave them my resume at a job fair at my university in September, indicating I'd be graduating in the spring. I received a call in January to see if I was still interested, and a phone interview was set up for a few days after that. The phone interview lasted about an hour and there were lots of situational questions (ie, decribe a time where...). At the end of that interview I was offered an in person interview right away. A couple days later I received a call from one of the branch managers who would be interviewing me and set up a time. They were flexbile around my school schedule. The in person interview went well, 2 branch managers interviewed me, and the questions were somewhat similar to the phone interview questions. They also asked me why I wanted to work for Scotiabank, and what I liked about it. I received an offer from my original recruiter the next day. My advice to someone looking to interview for this position would be to practice and prepare lots of situational questions and answers, as well as to research the company and know facts about it.

They were mostly situational, and some of them difficult. I prepared by searching for a bank of situational interview questions online. That helped.

After 4 months from having applied for the position, the HR contacted and requested a panel interview to be held the next day virtually. There is a form to fill out with basic information, half of which is in your resume. They also need copies of all academic certificates. The panel interview involved 3 persons. They asked a few open ended questions, such as what can you bring to the company. They have scenario based questions such as a sales scenario where you have to choose a product and then sell it to them. What will you do if you aren't meeting sales targets and what would you do if someone wants a loan but cannot afford it but you're sure that they can. They indicated that within 3 weeks feedback would be provided. No response has been received (its the 4th week)
