      Entrevista

      I attended a job fair that had Xerox reps for Saxon. The reps were interested in me because of my employment for several years in the rental/sales industry and my business education and background. I was immediately invited back to do a 2nd interview the next day. The 2nd interview went well and I was invited to a 3rd interview in Miami Lakes. The 3rd interview went dreamily. The reps just started joking and then moved onto Q&A about the company. I had researched Xerox and Saxon, the rep was impressed. I was shown around the office and introduced to several employees. I was elated because one of the main sales representatives was purportedly taking home mid six-figures after 10+ years and I know that I could do what he was doing and probably even better. I was verbally told by the corporate recruiter that I had the job after the tour and that I only needed to go on sales visits with a manager and another seasoned account executive and then meet with the owner. The manager and the account executive and I went to a large firm. The decision making managers were not available, instead we met with an old-school worker who had been at it way before the advent of modern technology, had no interest in adding more tech and claimed the firm had a zero dollar budget for tech. I can remember the guy getting into talking to me and me writing notes down about his past, how they used to do things before tech and the current operations. I left wondering why the decision makers where not available for an appointment, but feeling good about the meeting in general. I was scolded for writing notes and I was told that it made us look like we did not know what we were doing, needed to know, or that we needed learn more about their tech needs. Hmm, maybe that is why the decision making managers do not want to meet with you and you do not have that account. The account executive and I left that meeting to go to a close at a small business. I was told by the account executive that, "no one ever goes on a ride along and does not get the job," further confirming m hiring and adding to my elation. My relative was even lining up a big deal to get the ball rolling for me in terms of sales production. After a while waiting and of day dreaming about what my new life was going to be like making upper five-figures practically immediately and six-figures in a year or two from the huge account my relative was lining up, the door opened and I was invited back to the office. The owner/founder had been delayed. I was expecting "welcome aboard, we are glad to have you and you remind me of myself" talk from the owner/founder. The manager interrogated me about my personal and work history on my resume. I was astonished considering the parent companies corporate recruiter and the account executive had told me I had the job. The manager did not agree with the corporate recruiters, and the account executive on hiring me. I was told that they would call me back to finally meet with the owner/founder at a later date. Part of me sometimes thinks it was the "final test" and I was expected to grab my resume and appeal directly to the owner/founder who was secretly in his office waiting for me to pass the test. I mean that is what sales people do right, appeal to the decision makers and not ever give up, right? Just read the other reviews, the manager who did this is absolutely horrible. In all seriousness and honesty I had big plans and contacts to make it all a reality, but I was denied even after being made a verbal offer. I will always remember the feeling of leaving Saxon office in Miami Lakes and thinking one thing, why?
