This company asked me to record a Loom video answering a series of typical interview questions. Companies that request one-way A/V interviews prior to speaking to candidates are not respectful of our time.

The interview process seemed true to Sanctuary Computer's values as detailed on their website and blog articles. The first stage was to submit a recording of the candidate introducing themselves and talking through some details of their experiences. This has the benefit of letting candidates practice as much as they need, ensuring that their happy with their final submission. The next stage is for the candidate to evaluate themselves based on a skill tree that the company uses internally for performance reviews. This also gives the candidate an idea of their expected compensation should they make it to the offer round. The final round includes a two-part panel: one 90-minute system design session followed by another 90-minute session to implement a small part of it. This round is highly collaborative and candidates are allowed to consult their notes/online resources. I felt that the members of the panel did a good job of offering constructive feedback and questions to help steer the direction of the conversation at certain points.
