Entrevista
Three weeks after I submitted my resume, I got a phone call from the Regional Marketing Manager who arranged an interview for the following week (late December 2010). I had to submit a lot of personal information for their background check. I thought it was quite premature and invasive, considering I hadn't been offered the job. At the interview, I had an editing test and a writing test. After that, the Regional Marketing Manager interviewed me. She seemed pleasant at the time and I thought things went well. She explained she would need to get back to me after the Xmas holidays and wouldn't be speaking to me until mid January. In late January, I called her to get a status of my application. She was very rude and seemed too busy to even speak to me. She acted like I was bothering her. I asked her to call me to keep me informed. I sent her a followup e-mail a few weeks later. It's April and she still hasn't contacted me. I can accept that I'm not what STV is looking for, but since when is this dismissive attitude ok in business? It left me with a very poor impression of STV and gave me a glimpse of what it would be like to work at this company.
Just too long overall. Required a test. Duration of interview itself was long. Process was not organized. I would not recommend working for this company based on the interview process.

The process was extremely (and unnecessarily) lengthy. It all boils down to a test, which should be first before so much time is spent interviewing. The test did not seem relevant to the industry. Not worth it.

Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within a few weeks. The person I interviewed with Gretchen, asked a lot of questions and wrote down all of my responses I really didn't get much eye contact. She also tested me extensively with a really strange writing test I've never seen before. She stressed how proposal writing needed to be impeccable and she didn't want to have to do many corrections. The tests were timed and when I didn't finish within her time frame she seemed to get frustrated. All in all the interview was a waste of my time (it was about 2 hours long). She didn't even bother to notify me that I didn't get the job. Note to Gretchen, if you are going to interview someone for over 2 hours at least have the decency to send them a "thanks but no thanks" letter.
