Applied through a recruitment agency and the process took a week. I had the interview at Steris in Derby and I found the atmosphere a bit too formal although I was told at the interview that it is a very relaxed environment. I had the interview with a manager and a team leader. The interview last for aprox. 40 minutes and it wasn't too difficult. There were general question about myself, what do I do in my spare and few technical questions to gauge my experience. In my opinion, the interview went well but two days later the recruiter called me to give me the feedback as he received it from the emplyer. Apparently the manager didn't like the fact that I was wearing Vans although I was dressed smart casual, I was wearing a shirt and office trousers and I was also told that it's perfectly fine to wear whatever I want but in reasonable limits. He also said that the manager didn't like the fact that I was talking in a bad way about the company I currently work which is not true at all! I didn't say anything bad or negative about my current job or company, all I said was that I want to do more and I want to see more results, this is the reason I am looking for another job. This is always a problem as you never leave a company if you are happy with everything that happens there and to put that it's almost impossibe to answer that in a 100% positive way because first of all it would sound stupid and fake, second it would be a lie and third of all if everything is positive and good you would not have wanted to leave in the first place. Also, I found it a bit exagerated to mention the candidate shoes as a negative thing in 2019, 21st century, in a Western Country in the EU, especially in an environment where we promote diveristy, difference of opinions, flexibility, equality of chances, etc.
