      Entrevista

I submitted my resume via email and received a response about a month later. When I first arrived for my interview, I waited over 45 minutes. The building, and lobby were sort of a mess of clients, old magazines, and what looked like unfinished construction. During my near hour-long wait, some commotion happened outside of the building relating to a sort of race-war in the neighborhood (I kid you not) and the police were called. This is when I noticed that the building security was carrying more than a flashlight and pepper spray. I had just decided that I was going to leave when the interviewer came out to get me. She apologized and said that she was running behind schedule, but after my interview started, I realized that she was just extremely chatty and probably didn't manage her time well during her other interviews. The interview itself went really well - it was pretty relaxed, but professional. The interviewer was extremely honest about the state of affairs of the department and she actually had a great personality. This is important to note because the position would be working very closely with her. About 10 minutes into the interview, however, her phone rang and she was informed that her next interview had arrived. Despite this, she continued on with me for well over an hour. After the first interview, I came back for a second interview with another potential peer and a third interview with the Executive Director who seemed hesitant about me. About a week later I received an email that they had decided to go with another candidate, but thought that I was a really strong contender. Two weeks after that email, I received a phone call from interviewer #1 informing me that the person that they had originally made the offer to, had decided to take a different position about a week after she started the job. She then asked me if I would like to take the position since I was their second choice. I considered the offer, but was also interviewing with another organization. I then had a phone interview with a Regional Manager and an official offer was made about 2 business days after that.
