Lot of phone interviews with these folks, over the course of two months, reference checks with 5 of my former managers, co-workers, friends; everything went along swimmingly, had to travel to company office to give presentation. Thought everything went well, was told immediately afterwards that it was good, was told 3 days later no offer would be forthcoming, for reasons that seemed very inconsequential. I know all contact with a hiring company isn't going to result in an offer, but it would be nice to hear more concrete reasons, or just "we were going to hire the other guy regardless", which is how if felt, to be honest.
