I was greeted by both the supervisor for Access counseling and the HR supervisor for the downtown location. I was asked to share some information about myself regarding the reason I applied for the position as Access Counselor as well as the position I applied for as Men's addiction counselor. I was asked to share some of my professional background. I was asked to answer a series of questions that were related to problem-solving, how I would manage conflict in the workplace as well as managing self-care and preventing burn-out. It was a super positive experience and I felt like I was able to be honest and open about my answers. The 2 women interviewing me made me feel welcome in the interview and never made me feel like they were being condescending.
