I initially was contacted by a recruiter from the OfficeTeam group in regards to my resume. My first meeting was very pleasant, and as mentioned on the phone, the recruiter was committed to helping me find something suitable to me but also was interested in having me interview for a position with within Robert Half but under a different umbrella. I had a couple of meetings with them and they were great, until I had to complete a pre-hiring questionnaire with various skill-testing and other questions. After noting in my interviews I was not interested in the sales part of the role (to which they agreed I would not do, if I were hired), I answered the questionnaire in the same suit, saying I would not be comfortable with the sales aspect. 30 minutes after I completed the questionnaire, I received a call saying that they could not consider me for the role due to my responses on the questionnaire, and could not explain exactly why as they didn't have access to the results. I explained what I thought may have tripped up my answers (as they were what we had discussed previously) and the manager had nothing to say in response, just that she couldn't tell me why I couldn't be considered anymore, just that I wasn't to be considered, and that our pre-arranged (!!!) meeting for the next morning was now cancelled. I pushed for additional information, as being in the recruitment industry, I was interested in feedback and constructive criticism from this experience, and though she assured me she would get back to me, she did not. Even after the follow-up email I sent.
They seem to talk a big game at this company, but when a recruiting firm can't give basic information such as feedback on your interview or any related processes, it's a little scary. How can an organization be expected to find people jobs but not give them feedback on how they do in interviews, etc.?
Oh, and the person I worked with at OfficeTeam was completely MIA after that - after I told him I didn't get the interview to which he assured me he would continue to work with me.
Really disappointed with such a big name in the industry. Seems like their internal hiring processes/staff are a little underdeveloped. I wanted to like them, I really did.
