1. Sent online application 2. Invitation to call with hiring manager: they sent the invitation without checking with me regarding my preferred times. 3. Call with hiring manager: During the call, two other team members were present. First part of the call was fine when everyone was introducing themselves and sharing more about the vacancy. However, soon it became obvious that the interview style is antiquated: Every little gap in the resume had to be explained ("What happened during the two months here?" Why did you leave that position there?"). Furthermore, once I explained that my former company went through restructuring and 30% got laid off (including me), there was no sympathy. Quite the contrary: When I had to explain a successful project and shared one from my previous job, the response was "Oh, but that still didn't help you with getting laid off, didn't it?". Absolutely unprofessional and prejudiced behavior. Then at the end, the most unprofessional thing happened: Amongst two other people in the same call, the hiring manager asked for my salary expectations (Talk about confidentiality!). 4. After two week, I then received an *automatic* email stating that my application was interesting, but they are pursuing other candidates now. This email was sent *after* an interview, getting to know the people etc. At least a direct email from the hiring manager would have been appropriate, not an automatic email from the candidate system (not even a real HR person). Will never apply to Bosch again after this unprofessional, prejudiced experience.
