      Entrevista de Content Designer

      12 nov 2019
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Los Angeles, CA
      Sin oferta
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista normal

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de un captador. El proceso duró 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) en ago 2019

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a recruiter and after a call with them completed a design test. I was told my answers to the design test were very impressive and was flown to the offices in LA for a day long interview panel with multiple groups of people. The experience up to this point was very good, lots of prompt responses, friendly people at the offices, great getting a tour of the campus. They really make you want to be part of that. The week after the interview I get an email in the morning from the recruiter saying they had news and wanted to call me in the evening. The email included a happy smiley face that had me convinced I had the job. If I didn’t get the job why not tell me in the email, and why include a smiley face? I did not get the job. To make matters worse someone at Riot leaked to my boss at the time that I was entertaining other offers, and I was fired the next day. Riot setup a feedback session to let me know why I wasn’t hired, and the reasons given directly related to my atypical neurological condition. When I tried to explain the correlation, I was ignored. When I tried to bring this up with the recruiter later and how that related to Riots own hiring policy and California law, the recruiter stopped responding all together. All in all, taking an interview with Riot has negatively impacted my life and mental health and I would caution anyone who believes that they are changing for the better when it comes to diversity and better hiring practices.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

I was asked to create Magic cards using League of Legends characters and then had to explain what types of players the cards would attractive to. They insisted that the answer was according to the outdated and sexist psychographics of Timmy, Johnny, and Spike. This made me uncomfortable, and was later told that my improper use of these 3 roles was one of the reasons I was not hired.
