The interview had many stages. I had 3 phone interviews, then an in-person interview which they flew me to LA. Generally speaking the process went fairly smoothly and fairly quickly as well. Due to my schedule, I had very little availability for the in-person interview, and I was very happy that they were able to move very fast and accommodate me (took only a few days between last phone interview and the in-person). The in-person interview unsurprisingly also had a lunch session and a campus tour. They do serve lunch for their employees similar to what you may expect from (say) FANG, although at a smaller scale since this is a much smaller organization. There isn't too much to say about the interview questions themselves; they are fairly generic for a data scientist position with statistics and machine learning applications. You will definitely be at an advantage if you play the game since the game knowledge will provide you with context to some of the interview questions; however, the questions go beyond simple gameplay issues and your game knowledge will only help you so far.
