Initial interview with hiring manager followed by a take home assignment which was actually fun to do cuz you get to build an app with retool. This was then followed by 4 interviews: 1) technical interview with a support engineer, 2) behavioral interview with a support manager, 3) teaching interview where you build an app with one engineer and v then turn around and teach it to another engineer , 4) final behavior interview with the head of support. Everyone was incredibly kind and supportive throughout and they let me know what to focus on and how to prepare for each interview, so there were no surprises. It was really a wonderful process throughout.

What are you looking for in a team when you are looking to join one?
Multiple rounds of interviews. Initial company fit screening, then 2-3 rounds of technical interviews where you use the Retool platform to either achieve some objective or simulate a training exercise to teach a feature or two. Final rounds of interviews are with higher leadership or management and are additional fit interviews, including discussing scenarios and responses.

Use Retool platform to build out specific features. Best to check the basic Retool documentation as it does a good job explaining features and mirrors the basics of functionalities you may be asked about. Although interview question tends to range from simple to intermediate levels of what you will see in documentation.

I thoroughly enjoyed my interview process with Retool. They moved quickly which I greatly appreciated. They were transparent about what to expect during every interview. I had a screening call (30 mins), call with manager (45 mins), optional take home technical challenge, live technical interview with a current support engineer (45 mins), virtual onsite interview (2 technical, 1 situational).
