I applied online after contacting someone on LinkedIn and was contacted by a recruiter. The entire process lasted six weeks, which the recruiter was up front about. I thought that was a long time, but I respected that they wanted to be intentional about the process and make sure it was a good fit. In total, I had eight phone calls/video calls with five people before I actually went to Nashville. They asked me to complete a DISC assessment, a skills assessment, and flew me out for a final session of interviews and dinner. The half day I spent on campus was when things really fell apart. It felt like a manic speed dating session with a bunch of hipsters or "too-cool-for-you" kids. I sensed a ton of arrogance...but look at the guy who runs the place. Not a good fit. Glad I didn't get the job. All in all, I invested a lot of time and energy in the process, only to be told in the end "not everyone was in 100% agreement to bring me on."
